Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Indigenous Studies and minoring in Visual Arts

NSW

Hey you mob, my name is Meissa. I am a 23-year-old, queer, Wiradjuri, Gamilaroi, and Awabakal woman based in Wollongong and Sydney. I come from a big family, I am a big sister and a little sister, being the second eldest of 11 siblings. I am just over halfway through studying my double degree of a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts – majoring in Indigenous Studies and minoring in Visual Arts. I study on Dharawal Country at the University of Wollongong and am on track to commence my fifth year in 2024 and graduate in late 2025 or early 2026.

I am working towards becoming a practicing lawyer and hope to use my degree to help people from marginalised communities and backgrounds with a focus on supporting Indigenous and queer communities.

I would like to thank The Pinnacle Foundation and Peter Brennan AM and Michael Lynch for facilitating my place in this program and funding my Peter Brennan AM & Michael Lynch Fund Scholarship.
