Hi my name is River! I am currently studying a Bachelor of Art and Design at Southern Cross University on Widjabul-Wiabul land in Bundjalung Country. My final year of this course will take place in 2024, where I hope to create a body of work exploring gender, decolonisation, and the reunion of white Australia to their pre-colonial origins of culture and stories as a form of structural and patriarchal abolishment of white colonial control. I believe that representation is paramount to the survival of minority groups and strive towards using creative and visual arts as a platform to celebrate and explore Queer, cultural and gender diverse expressions of identity. I believe that the arts can bridge gaps between language, culture, gender, and neuro-diverse abilities to have complex discussions through accessible visual, sound and textural narratives.
