Riley (he/they)

Hello, my name is Riley! I live on Kaurna country and am a student at Flinders University. I recently completed a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Writing & Publishing) and will be continuing my studies with the commencement of a Bachelor of Creative Arts in Creative Writing (Honours) in 2024. I am deeply passionate about literature, and particularly, how the LGBTQIA+ community is included in creative fiction. My honours research will explore the representation of trans and lesbian identity within the horror genre, and I aspire to continue this research with a PhD in the following years. Being a creative industries student gave me the skills and confidence I needed to write novels led by protagonists like me, and thus, resulted in securing literary representation for my works.

As I continue studying with the gracious support and mentoring of The Pinnacle Foundation, I strive to not only continue writing such stories, but also to put them on bookshop shelves for other community members to see themselves in.
