In 2024 Cordelia will commence a Master of Social Work at RMIT University (City Campus). This 2-year degree continues into 2025 and involves 500 hours of fieldwork placement. Cordelia’s professional background is diverse, they have experience in consultancy, communications, program management, policy design and disability support work. They have worked across public and private sectors including within tertiary, community and health services. Most recently they have been a diversity and inclusion advisor for the Victorian Government Department of Jobs, Skills, Industries and Regions.

As a queer trans person, Cordelia is deeply involved in community and has extensive experience in community organising and development. Cordelia’s approach to practice is person-centred, strengths-based and embedded in social models of health and justice. As a successful recipient of the Pinnacle scholarship Cordelia looks forward to being part of a network of passionate LGBTQIA+ leaders and champions. This scholarship will support Cordelia to achieve their aim of becoming a qualified Social Worker and further their dream of establishing a multidisciplinary health and social service for rural LGBTQIA+ Victorians.
