Brad Thiele (he/him)

Brad returned to Australia a few years ago after spending 23 years in London, where he built a career in international banking, specialising in financial crime risk management. Most recently, Brad was the head of financial crime for the investment banking division of one of Australia’s big four banks.

Brad now uses his extensive experience to consult independently with clients, focusing on the balance between regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. He also mentors small business founders, helping them to navigate the complexities of doing business with large corporates. Having graduated with a degree in journalism and political science, Brad enjoys being an example to Pinnacle scholars that your university degree can bring you career and travel opportunities that you might never have thought of.

As well as his appointment as chair of the New South Wales Committee, Brad mentors a Pinnacle Foundation scholar, is a member of Pinnacle’s national selection committee, and marshals for Pinnacle’s entry in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

Brad is a passionate home chef and baker, having taken a year out in 2015 to study full time at Le Cordon Bleu London, earning the prestigious Grande Diplôme in French cuisine and French patisserie.

Now happily settled in Sydney, Brad enjoys exploring the city’s food, culture and natural beauty — especially its beaches — with his partner Andy.
