Ziggy (they/them)

Hello! My name is Ziggy, and I am the honoured to be the recipient of the Sam Smith Scholarship. In 2025 I will be commencing my four-year course at Murdoch University in Perth, I will be studying Creative Media and Communications and hope to major in Screen Production and Journalism.  

Moving from my small country home of Geraldton to pursue studies in the big city is a big undertaking. I have lived in Geraldton my whole life, and am thrilled to start this new chapter of my life with the support of The Pinnacle Foundation.  

Through the skills and knowledge, I learn through in studies, I hope to give back to the LGBTQIA+ community as social activism for those within marginalised spaces has always been a passion of mine. A long-term goal of mine is to have my own production business, working to bring queer joy, and mental health activism into the media industry, a space that is typically toxic for young and vulnerable minds.
