BHP Scholarship, WA

After a lot of adversity in regional Western Australia (WA), I have become a strong advocate for young people and the LGBTIQA+ community. I am the Chair of the Youth Pride Network which is working to improve the lives of young LGBTIQA+ people through systemic advocacy, education, and events. I helped form the Town of Port Hedland’s first youth advisory council. I am also a member of the 23/24 Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Youth Advisory Group for the Australian Government and has been a member of the YMCA’s Youth Parliament.

The environment is also a passion of mine, working with the Australian Association of Environmental Education, Millennium Kids, headspace centres, the Child and Adolescent Health Service, Youth Affairs Council Western Australia (YACWA) and other organisations. I joined the Youth Pride Network (YPN) to ensure regional young people are represented and their extremely unique position is understood by a largely metropolitan population where they can often be overlooked.

I have studied mental health peer work and a Diploma of Community services and in 2025 I will be studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics and International Relations.

I aim to work in the policy space to utilise my lived experience to push for change to improve the lives of LGBTIQA+ young people in Australia.
