Tavonga

For the 2020 year, The Duncan Peerman & Paul Zahra Scholarship has been awarded to Tavonga Nzenza-Grant (born 1999, from Victoria).  Tavonga will enter his third year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree at The University of Melbourne. He came to Australia when he was 16 years of age and obtained a scholarship to attend Xavier College where he achieved his university entrance.

Tavonga is a remarkably strong and resilient person who acknowledges that his, “sexual identity has made [him] stronger and more resilient. So, when people say rude comments, it does put you down, but it builds me up in the same way.”
