Penelope (she/her)
Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Arts (International Relations) - The University of Sydney
Mirvac Scholarship, NSW
Hello! My name is Penelope and I am so excited to be a part of the Pinnacle family for 2025!
Having lived in Sydney since 2010, studying at the University of Sydney was always one of my major life goals, and I am happy to say I am now entering my third year of studies there completing a Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts in International Relations.
It was definitely a shock entering university and realising we still have a long way to go towards gender equality in entering science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) degrees and fields. As such, one of my proudest achievements has been to become a leader of the Engineering Faculty’s mentoring program designed to help new students adjust to and succeed in university life, and I am grateful to Mirvac and The Pinnacle Foundation for this scholarship, which, as a Pinnacle Scholar, will enable me to continue and grow as an advocate for women and gender diverse people in engineering.
Once I graduate, I hope to work in designing and improving embedded systems for humanitarian applications, and in government advisory surrounding technology and security.
