Kristina (she/her)
Mechanical Engineering Honours - UNSW
Yarranabbe Foundation Scholarship, NSW
Hi! I am Kristina, and I am entering my third year of Mechanical Engineering at UNSW. I am passionate about using engineering and my love for community as tools to create equitable change. My goal is to become a systems engineer who leads community-centred solutions, particularly in robotics, renewable energy, and biomedical devices. I also have a Certificate III in Assistance in Nursing, which deepens my understanding of care and the importance of medical devices.
One of my proudest achievements was starting a Pride group at my high school. I led an enthusiastic team to create a safe space that celebrated queerness, something I had never witnessed before in Western Sydney. As an Industry Executive in my society, Robogals, I am passionate about bringing free STEM workshops to girls and schools in disadvantaged areas to inspire the next generation of engineers. I know first-hand that even small opportunities to engage in fun learning can be long-lasting.
Growing up in a big family with six siblings, I have always valued connection and community. I have found that again through Robogals, Bankstown Art’s Outloud Youth Advisory Group, and now through The Pinnacle Foundation. Outside of academics, I practise Taido, a Japanese martial art, and my goal is to compete in the 2027 World Championships.
I am beyond grateful to Jeremy Roth and The Yarranabbe Foundation for supporting my journey. I hope to showcase what I am truly capable of.
