Dermal Therapy - Victoria University
For 2020, The Pinnacle Foundation Scholarship has been Awarded to Kai James Morley. Kai (born in 1999) currently resides in Malaysia and is relocating to Melbourne to undertake a Bachelor of Dermal Therapy. Kai wants to pursue a degree which will allow him to pursue his creative endeavours. He enjoys the science and clinical aspects of the beauty industry and these two factors are present in dermal therapy.
Kai dreams of owning a spa or salon which would be a safe place for the LGBTIQ+ community and they would feel safe and be able to “experience luxury and self-care as self-care is life changing too.” Kai has been working hard to build his career and during his secondary school and has completed both freelance work on the side to build his artistic portfolio and undertaken an additional diploma in Freelance Makeup services. Before this, Kai also completed diplomas in Specialist Beauty Therapy, Aesthetic Treatments and Holistic Massage while working in Hong Kong,
Kai is very excited to be coming home to Australia, beginning his course and being part of the Pinnacle Foundation family and looks forward to giving back to our community. In terms of community engagement, Kai has been involved in leadership roles in theatre productions at schools, which include costume designer for ‘Into the Woods’, ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’ ‘Abridged works of William Shakespeare’ and others. Kai was elected by the student body to represent the community committee with two other students, in which he organized events and work to build school spirit and morale.
