Jet (he/they)

Hello! My name is Jet and I am beyond excited to be a Pinnacle scholar! I will be commencing the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at Monash University in 2025. I am beyond excited to start my journey toward becoming a doctor, and I hope to train in a surgical specialty following completion of my degree. I am very passionate about healthcare and want to address inequalities in Australia and the rest of the world.My goal is to work internationally in policy development, public health, and volunteering. One day I also want to establish a nonprofit of my own.  

I grew up in North-West Tasmania and am passionate about improving life for rural and remote young people. I am a current National Youth Delegate to the Commonwealth Youth Council and have had the privilege to work in a number of youth engagement spaces. I love the arts, and have been singing my whole life. I found a passion for musical theatre in high school and take every chance I can to perform.  

 I am incredibly grateful to Rio Tinto for funding the Thrive scholarships, and to The Pinnacle Foundation for this opportunity. This scholarship will aid me while I continue to pursue my ambitions, and help me to develop a support network as I navigate a brand new adventure!
