Hello! My name is Jack Egan, and I am proud to be a passionate rugby player and university student currently based in Canberra. In 2025, I am continuing my studies at the University of Canberra, where I am pursuing my degree while actively representing the university in sport.
Originally from the Central West of New South Wales, moving to Canberra to study and play rugby has been a major step in both my personal and athletic journey. I began playing rugby in 2021 and have since competed in both 7s and 15s formats for teams such as CSU Mitchell and the Sydney Convicts, a club that celebrates diversity and inclusion within the sport. In 2026, I will be representing the Sydney Convicts at the Bingham Cup, the world’s largest international inclusive rugby tournament.
As an openly gay athlete, I am passionate about creating visibility and inclusion for LGBTQIA+ people in rugby. I believe that representation matters deeply, and I hope to use my experiences to show others that authenticity and strength go hand in hand.
My long-term goal is to continue contributing to the game I love both on the field and within the community, helping to make rugby a more inclusive and supportive space for everyone.
