Hannah (she/they)

My name is Hannah and I am so excited to be a part of the Pinnacle Family. Having completed a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2021 and working for both the government and rural dental for the two years to follow I realised the discrepancies in the health services provided and I knew I had to study further. Entering now into my second year of a Doctor of Medicine at Flinders University I know I have made the right decision.

My future career goals are shaped by the lack of adequate health services which can provide safe and affirming care to those that are in need. Coming from an Indigenous Australian background I am passionate about giving back to my community and those who paved the way for me. Coming from a background less than accepting of my LGBTQIA+ Identity coupled with the challenges faced as an Indigenous woman I have had to hold my own and show resilience and perseverance to be able to get to where I am today. The Pinnacle Foundation displayed all of the values I aim to work under and display and I am beyond thankful for the support they, and the Olrem Scholarship, have offered me.
