Georgie (she/her)

Hello! My name is Georgie and I am super excited to have completed my Diploma of Music (Performance) at Box Hill Institute in 2025. It has been an incredible year where I have furthered my music theory and performance knowledge, which has inspired me to continue my studies in a Bachelor of Music in 2026. During high school, music was my favourite subject.

I have always loved singing, but it was through various opportunities in high school that I learnt I also enjoy composing music. Composing a folio of programmatic string quartets for a major assessment in year 12 was something I particularly enjoyed, as it involves portraying a story or character through music.

One of the main reasons I applied for a Pinnacle Foundation scholarship was the sense of community that comes with having a mentor and being part of the Pinnacle family. I am incredibly grateful to have had access to this and have found it has helped me greatly through my first year of tertiary education. I ultimately aspire to be a music therapist. Music therapy has greatly helped me when words fail, and I find music to be a fantastic medium for self-exploration. I am drawn to music therapy because I think it would be incredibly fulfilling to support others who find music to be a more effective way to express themselves and work through trauma.
