Emily Schultz (she/they)

Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Environmental Science - University of Queensland

BHP Scholarship, QLD

I am currently studying a dual degree in Chemical Engineering, majoring in Metallurgy, and Environmental Science at the University of Queensland. I expect to graduate in 2028. I chose this path because I am enthusiastic about creating a balance between industrial development and environmental protection. My goal is to help heavy industries transition toward more sustainable, low-emission practices while remaining economically viable. After graduation, I hope to work as a process engineer in the resources sector, focusing on cleaner production and circular economy solutions.

Some of my proudest achievements so far include receiving the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence and being selected as a Liveris Academy Scholar. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to making a positive impact in engineering and sustainability. I applied for The Pinnacle Foundation scholarship because I want to be part of a community that values authenticity, resilience, and purpose. The mentorship program especially appeals to me, as I am eager to learn from others who have overcome challenges and built meaningful lives.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy hiking, four-wheel driving, and caring for my plants. You will usually find me studying with a matcha in hand, surrounded by friends.
