Edward (he/they)

Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Hons)

I am a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) student at the University of Sydney, Camperdown campus. I am in my fourth year of study, having completed my Bachelor of Arts in 2022. In 2023, I am undertaking an Honours degree in International Relations following my Bachelor of Arts degree and will complete my law degree in 2025.

Advocacy for queer and welfare issues are a significant part of my life. I was the Queer Officer for the Sydney University Law Society in 2022 and worked to create a supportive and empowering environment for queer law students. I am also passionate about welfare and justice issues, volunteering for the Welfare Rights Centre and co-writing a criminal justice reform report for JustReinvest NSW. While I have faced difficulties due to my queer identity, I am excited to continue empowering myself and other queer people to achieve their goals during my time at university further into my future career.

Although I am still relatively early in my studies, I am keen to start a career in commercial law and simultaneously maintain my work advocating for queer and welfare issues.

I am incredibly thankful to The Pinnacle Foundation and King & Wood Mallesons for their generous sponsorship of me. With this generous support, I will be further empowered to continue social advocacy and achieve my career goals despite the challenges I face.
