Darcy (he/him)

Bachelor of Science (Medical, Molecular, and Forensic)

Hi, my name is Darcy and I am in my third year of studying Clinical Lab Science and Forensic Toxicology and Biology and I have two years left after 2022. I grew up rural and only came out when I moved to Perth in late 2018. I started university shortly afterwards and honestly had a lot of trouble balancing transitioning and studying.

I never had any trans guy role models. It was hard when I was a kid. I did not have a name for what I felt, I just thought something was wrong with me. That mindset persisted for a long time – I am still unlearning it. My goal is to be that role model for young men like me. I would like to prove that trans men can succeed in anything we put our minds to.

BHP is funding my scholarship, and I cannot express how grateful I am to them.
