VIC

Hi, I’m Curtis, I’m a second year Juris Doctor student at the University of Melbourne. I’m originally from Tasmania, and the first in my family to attend university. Prior to commencing my Juris Doctor (JD), I completed a Bachelor of International Studies at RMIT University and was fortunate to spend a semester abroad at the University of Birmingham in the UK, before graduating with Distinction in 2019.

Alongside my studies, I’ve been actively involved with Out for Australia, serving as the Deputy Director for Victoria as well as working in the national partnerships team to create visible role models and encourage LGBTIQ+ students and young professionals to bring their best, authentic selves to the workplace. I’m a strong advocate for education and opportunities for students, having previously held positions in the International Studies Association and Staff Student Consultative Committee at RMIT, and currently in the MULSS Careers and Development portfolio at Melbourne Law School.

Following my JD, I hope to pursue a career in international commercial law, bringing together my interests in global political economy, Asian studies, and human rights in business practice. Education is the most extraordinary gift, and I am so grateful to both Allens and The Pinnacle Foundation for this opportunity.
