Master of Electrical Engineering - University of Melbourne
Bill Chambers Scholarship , VIC
Hello! I am currently studying electrical engineering and am passionate about the environment from all my time in nature. It has always been grounding and I want to play an active role in protecting it. I have always found electrical engineering both challenging and stimulating; it felt like the right space to develop technical skills that can contribute to real-world change.
In my undergraduate degree, I served as an elected student representative for four years, an experience that helped me grow into someone who advocates for others with empathy. My aspiration is to work at the forefront of the energy transition by helping shift our reliance from fossil fuels to green, renewable sources while easing the pressure on our power grid. It is a space I can combine passion with problem-solving.
I applied for The Pinnacle Foundation scholarship because I value being part of a network of like-minded queer people who are community-minded and passionate about making a difference. It is rare and powerful to find a space where identity, ambition, and support intersect so meaningfully.
A fun fact I have is I became an uncle when I was a teenager. I adore my nieces and nephews; they are smart and cheeky. I also love to travel whenever I have a break. I hope to make it down to Antarctica someday soon.
