Bachelor of International Relations - RMIT

The Huseyin Tasdemir Scholarship, VIC

I study international relations at RMIT university. While studying I have also worked as a facilitator for a youth mental health think tank in Australia. I’m an award-winning advocate, having participated in various roles as author, advisor, and speaker, for the government entities in Australia and various organisations across the world working in areas such as education, gender equality, and mental health. I have a strong passion for creating a better world and have received recognition for the work I have done with an initiative I founded which aims to respond to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. I am also a recipient of a Youth Global Citizen award which is given to those who are exceptional advocates and who work to alleviate poverty and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by the United Nations across the world.

Receiving a Pinnacle Foundation scholarship has opened a whole lot of opportunities for me in my studies which was otherwise a distant dream. I immensely thank The Pinnacle Foundation donors for their valuable investment into young people’s potential which upscales a historically marginalised community with the tools and resources to catalyse change. As someone with a strong need for the scholarship, I will strive to make the most out of it and take every moment to learn and grow stronger.
